Uttam Ghosh was born in Rishikesh, India. His fascination for yoga developed in childhood when he experienced the ‘bhakti’ form of yoga with his grandfather.
His curiosity for yoga led him to explore and study the mystic invisible life force energy of yoga. It was because of this hunger to search the depth of mystic life forces that Uttam started his spiritual journey which led him to learn and practice Kundalini, Yantra, Mantra & Tantra.
Through hard work, dedication and experience, he was initiated onto the Kundalini Yoga Path by Swami Vidyananda. Swami Vidyananda also honored him with the spiritual name “Rishi Raj”.
Uttam is the founder of “Rishikesh Yogis Yogshala” who teaches a wide range of Transformational Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga in Rishikesh. He also conducts various workshops around the globe concerning meditation and yoga therapy.
Uttam has completed extensive training in a variety of different yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga. He has also studied yoga philosophy, anatomy, and meditation, and incorporates these elements into his teaching to provide a well-rounded and holistic experience for his students.
As a teacher, Uttam is known for his warm and engaging personality, as well as his ability to create a supportive and inclusive environment for his students. He is passionate about helping his students to deepen their own yoga practice, both physically and spiritually, and encourages them to explore their own potential and growth.
In addition to his work as a yoga teacher, Uttam is also a devoted practitioner of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of natural healing. He believes that a balanced and healthy lifestyle is essential for overall well-being, and incorporates Ayurvedic principles into his yoga teaching to help his students achieve optimal health and vitality.
